Using VRPlants for Remote Instruction

VRPlants’ projects include several different tools to support online or remote learning. These games and videos are supported on desktop, tablet, Google Cardboard, and other 360° viewing devices. We hope educators will utilize these free, no-download-necessary media within their own classrooms and instruction.

“Ram’s Horn” is a web-based virtual reality game that uses virtual reality to support a lesson plan on plant form & function relationships.

The code for the game is open-source and you’re free to remix your own version of this project or use ours in your classroom.

VRPlants filmed a series of 360° videos documenting the restoration of a longleaf pine ecosystem following a prescribed burn.

Students can engage in a ‘walking tours’ of an ephemeral learning space with subject matter experts pointing out key features.
